STRATEGIC PLAN
MISSION
STATEMENT
"The mission of the Texas Agricultural Cooperative
Council is to promote, support and advance the interest
and understanding of agricultural, utility and credit cooperatives
and their members through legislative and regulatory efforts,
education and public relations."
I. Provide customer-driven education programs.
II.
Work effectively on legislative and regulatory issues.
III.
Be the industry spokesman for cooperatives and agriculture.
IV.
Add value to TACC membership by providing effective services
and timely communications.
V.
Provide leadership in human resource activities and services
at the co-op level.
I.
Provide customer-driven education programs.
A. Survey managers and directors of member
cooperatives to determine needs.
B. Offer three TACC Cooperative Director Training
Programs annually.
C. Continue to annually hold two Manager Development
Conferences in Ruidoso, New Mexico and South Texas.
D. Continue to offer an annual TACC Cooperative
Board Chairmen's Conference.
E. Continue and enhance the TACC Leadership
Conference on an annual basis.
II. Work effectively on legislative and regulatory issues.
A. Continue what was begun in 2000 to improve
upon a grassroots response strategy.
B. Monitor and influence legislation and regulations
that focus upon protecting the cooperative industry's competitive
position.
C. Survey members in regard to priorities and
plans on legislative and regulatory needs and issues.
D. Develop a plan to improve TACC-PAC influence.
E. Take steps to augment staff needs during
legislative sessions...odd numbered years.
III. Be the industry spokesman for cooperatives and
agriculture.
A. Continue TACC's presence in the Texas Agricultural
Council, Texas Agricultural Forum, Texas Agricultural Summit
and the Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership...annually.
B. Continue to network with the Texas Department
of Agriculture and other various groups to obtain co-op and
general agricultural referrals.
C. Continue to develop ways to show cooperatives
as a key value-added alternative.
D. Implement a plan to make TACC more radio
visible during legislative sessions...odd numbered years.
IV.
Add value to TACC membership by providing effective services
and timely communications.
B. Communicate value of TACC membership.
C.
Develop a targeted membership retention and development plan.
D. Continue TACC role in strategic planning
activities.
E. Continue developing three-year proforma
projections on TACC income and expenses...annually in August.
V.
Provide greater leadership in human resource activities and
services at the co-op level.
A.
Become the clearinghouse among regional co-ops regarding employee
needs, concerns, training opportunities and other activities.
